With today’s decorative overlays, it’s easy to give almost any concrete surface, indoors or out, a complete face-lift and at a much lower cost than removal and replacement. The real challenge is choosing from among the many resurfacing products available and the diverse array of decorative finishes possible. There are multiple options available for achieving any look imaginable with a concrete overlay.

Concrete Overlay
Although cement-based overlays have been around for decades, many of today’s systems blend polymer resins with cement, sand, and other additives to improve performance, wear resistance, and aesthetic qualities. Polymer-modified overlays can be applied in layers as thin as a credit card or up to half an inch thick without delamination or failure. Standard concrete overlay is a nice choice for hiding big imperfections on your concrete floor. They adhere well to existing concrete and resist damage from salt, chemicals, UV exposure, freeze-thaw conditions, and abrasion. A great choice for outdoor and indoor projects, a nice rough finish that can be acid stained, stained and sealed. Combine with a trusted sealer with non slip additive for a slip resistant floor.
Micro-Topping, Feather Finish or Smooth Finish Overlay
Whatever you may know it as, a smooth finish is a must for those who want a smooth concrete floor. A great choice for indoor or even outdoor concrete floors, these type of overlays are meant to be applied over existing concrete floors with little to no imperfections. They can also be applied to standard concrete overlay coatings for a smooth feather finish. They are applied in a very thin coat that is meant to close the pores of rough or very porous concrete or overlay coating. Much like standard overlay, they are made to take acid stain, stain and sealer coatings for a truly unique look. For indoor projects, combine a acid stained smooth overlay finish with a Urethane top coat for a high gloss, foot traffic resistant and stain resistant floor.
Spray Deck Overlay Coating
These overlays are a specialized blend meant to be sprayed similar to a wall texture but on concrete. They are perfect for pool or any outdoor concrete surface that requires resistance to foot traffic and the elements.
